Holzweiler is now a world-famous fashion house based in Oslo, they celebrate individuality and focus on unique creative expressions. They have a strong passion for art and culture and the result of that is numerous art collaborations, accessories, and scarves. The vision was to build a brand that would reflect the beauty of everyday life, something that would combine their passion for art and culture.

Holzweiler is situated within the fashion design, and in the world of fashion, it all begins with an idea. An idea to create something new and something different, and as I mentioned at the beginning of this text the idea of starting the new brand was to reflect on the beauty of everyday life.

To become successful, they needed to create trends or at least follow the trends quickly, because the trends change fast, so you need to stay on top of the game at all times, which I think they have managed.

Holzweiler designs are in the category “ready to wear”, which is more every-day and casual wear. The clothes are a cross between haute couture and mass market. They are known for the logo, the hanger, and it’s a statement in their clothing pieces and it is what makes their clothes unique. The hanger logo is a daily reminder of their goal, products with optimal design and functionality.

Norwegian´s fashion is more ready to wear clothes; we are dressed basic and we want to be casual but still look well put together at the same time.

After they managed to storm the Norwegian market, they wanted to aim higher, international. And with great success after the famous model, Gigi Hadid was pictured with the orange sweater in 2017 and Post Malone was seen using the Holzweiler sweater as well. Now their clothes can be found in numerous stores all over the world (USA, Japan, London).

I would probably define their competitors as Fashion designers who focus on quality, individuality, everyday clothes that are classic and rarely go out of fashion, brands with statement products and a mix of art and uniqueness. Brands like Acne Studios also aim to produce quality clothing that is timeless and focuses on environmental strategy.  I would also say their competitors could be Filippa K who creates high-quality pieces that are comfortable and stylish for men and women. They are also focusing on timeless simple design and luxurious in their simplicity.

But in Norway, they have managed to simply be the best in what they do, with help from the family and famous designer, Dorthe Skappel, they started with designing scarves and now they have a range from accessories, clothes, bags and they newly started to produce shoes. I think we will see a lot more from this brand and I can´t wait.
