Let’s B-Reel

This week’s topic is an international creative agency called B-Reel that has had a huge success in the design industry and is now working globally with offices in Stockholm, London, Los Angeles, New York and Barcelona! 

B-Reel is originally a Swedish production company that was founded in 1999 by a group of talented and creative people- Anders Wahlquist, Frederik Heinig, Johannes Åhlund, Pelle Nilsson and Petter Westlund. The company has been named as the best digital production by Boards  Magazine and Creativity Magazine. One of their last achievements- was winning the FWA Adobe The Cutting Edge Award for making a website for the brand Smartwater. Some of company’s currents clients are MTV, GUCCI, INFINITI, IKEA, Pepsi and Ford. Which is pretty cool! 

So, what is the secret behind the success? 

The design industry is all about the users. It is about meeting  people’s needs and providing them practical, beautiful, functional products. In comparison to art- design is more business orientated. Design-driven thinkers are divided into several sectors such as industrial design, architecture, fashion design, graphic design etc. Main focus in each sector is innovation. You have to be innovative and creative to succeed in the industry because people are constantly seeking after something new and exciting. 

B-Reel is a creative agency, a part of the digital design sector, that works with brand innovation through communication and product design. They help clients to shape modern brand strategy, communicate with potential customers and develop new digital products and services.  

What makes B-Reel such an interactive agency today, is that they are kind of obsessed with innovation. The team is always trying to hack the system and figure out how things are done to create  unexpected, interesting things. You would say that the ones who rule the design industry are the innovation-hungry minds. Why? Because they are very good at creating stuff that people want. It is simply just too much for us out there today, so it gets harder and harder to surprise us. Design industry is a big part of the economy; creating products that people actually buy; partnership with other companies etc., it requires a team of those wizards who will turn a simple mug into something extremely desirable. 

B-Reel is partners with such companies as H&M, Netflix, Google, Nike and others. You have probably heard of those, right? Another thing is that the sector the agency works within; technology- digital products and services in general are highly required today. The digital design sector is actually defined as art with a purpose. It is similar to graphic design and what it does is creating a systematic and creative plan to solve a problem through visual communication and the aesthetic expression.
