Making sense of art and design industries

I have a big interest in technology. Innovation is an important keyword here because new stuff is always apporaching us wether we like it or not. So how can designers/ the design industry use the technology in the best possible way? In this case, I will have focus on a company that does different thingsand where thet also have big focus on innovation.

The organization I have chosen is called Adeprimo, which is a full service agencythat is developing and designs digital experiences.The company consists of 43 employees, where 36 of them are men. They have 5 offices in Sweden and 1 in Finland.Quote from their Linkedin profile:

«We create websites, mobile sites, business software, mobile solutions and apps for smart devices. But above all, we create user experiences that evoke commitment, affect emotions and behavior. In short, things that people need, use and enjoy.»

So their design approach is used within technology and design where they have the customer in focus, and not to get the biggest proft. They create things in a customer-driven process based on the users’ needs, which means that if you have an idea or a concept you want to develop, they can help you to get one step further. They are doing something called process-design.

One of the things that I think is unique abut this company is that they are not afraid to try something new or test out new concepts or ideas. They have done different kind of cases accordring to their website, like Virtual Reality related projects where you will be put in different situations, for example how it is to be a solder in The Swedish Armed Forces, to recruit young people to join the army, slalom skiing etc. After the VR experience for The Swedish Armed Forces, the numbers of registrations had increased by 814%! Their main focus was to get women to register, and that had also increased noticeable.

As mentioned earlier, Adeprimo design websites, and has also been helping with the design of Nordic Hotels & Resorts websites’. They are working with 20 out of 25 hotels, and the revenue of the hotels has been increased compared to the old booking engine they had earlier. So it shows that having a good web design is important for, I would say, all industries. It can in fact decide if your business will survive or not. A user-friendly website that everybody can use without too much effort will have more visitors, and therefore more customers (most likely).
