Julie Josephine is a Scandinavian contemporary fashion brand established in Oslo, Norway in 2016 by Julie Josephine Blystad (juliejosephine, 2019). This brand/organization can be placed in the category fashion design industry. The fashion industry in Norway is not big, and it will take a huge effort to survive in this business.
Julie Josephine Blystad studied economics in Scotland and got a job as an accountant in PwC in Norway after she got her degree. She ended her job and started her own clothing company and created her own brand. Julie has always had a passion for fashion. Her father encouraged her to work with fashion because that was the only thing she had been talking about her entire life, and he knew she could have a career within fashion. Her clothes are now selling in her own store at Frogner in Oslo, other stores in Norway with selected brands and online.
The brand has one ambition, and that´s to offer beautiful and high-quality basics with the “perfect fit” starting with the classic t-shirt and the crisp white shirt (juliejosephine, 2019). They believe that simplicity, quality and the focus and attention to the perfect silhouette creates personal and long-lasting pieces for the customers. Julie Josephine´s goal is to build a bridge between the different needs and aspects of modern life, and at the same time give a contemporary style to the classics. The brand cherish quality and think that´s the most important thing to focus on. Every fabric and stitch are carefully and wise chosen. They work with some of the very best producers of cotton to ensure that the quality is top notch. Every piece is classic but will still stand out in any wardrobe (juliejosephine, 2019).
The design approach for Julie Josephine characterizes classic, contemporary and minimalistic clothes. All the clothes are in individual colours, mostly navy blue, white and black. There is no print or pattern on her clothes, and that´s what many of their customers love. They want to convey that everyone should own at least one piece of Julie Josephine essentials in their wardrobe.
