Patagonia has been making clothing and equipment for several sports since 1973. Patagonia clothing has a rugged, functional design that will last you for years. From Patagonia you will find other recycled polyester fleece jackets, Fair Trade manufactured garments, and warm recycled down jackets.
The first to make recycled polyester from plastic bottle bottles in 1993 and the first manufacturer of outerwear that turned garbage into fleece. It was a step towards a more sustainable system that uses fewer resources, wastes less and protects public health.
Today I recycle used soda bottles, consumer production waste and worn out garments (including their own) into polyester fibers to produce clothing.
Pategonia is a brand that has been known for several years now. Their brand is easily recognizable and has a good reputation. They are recognized for their good quality and on their sustainability. After seeing how nature is affected by pollution, pategonia has been early in the market to produce and breakthrough product. This has helped to strengthen their brand and their design.
But why did they succeed?
Their solution was brilliant. They made a fleece of old bottles. Because they used something that was available, they could lightest more products and it could also be cheaper or easy. 67-year-old Rick Ridgeway is the face of today’s Patagonia. He was the first American to best K2, has a network and Emmy award for a nature documentary and written for both National Geographic and Harvard Business. It is he who has a network and one of nature documentaries and he is an active man in nature who contributes to design. This is because they make the clothes designed to be outdoors. As they say “we make clothes of nature that you can use in nature”.
