I have recently been out looking for a new car and have decided to look at the hybrid / electric range of cars. When electric cars first came on the market it wasn’t anything special until the Tesla Model S. in my opinion there hasn’t been anything revolutionary in the electric car market after the Model S, until Audi revealed their newest all electric car the Audi E-tron 55 and 50.
Now the car by itself is certainly not revolutionary, but we can clearly see that Audi is on the right path towards new and innovative technology. The car is a mid/large SUV with a fantastic mix of sporty, yet sophisticated design. The Exterior has the newest of Audi’s lighting features, and since the car in itself is relatively large, you can get the car with rear steering capability as well. This makes it so that the rear wheels turn in the opposite direction of the front wheels in low speeds for a smaller turning circle and they turn the same direction as the front wheels in higher speeds for more stability and control.
If we look at the interior, the car in itself has a very posh feel. It has two large touch screens and a large “virtual cockpit” drivers display, amazing ambient lighting and maybe the most noticeable thing. It has digital side mirrors. There is a camera installed on each side of the car, that point backwards and make it so u can see everything on two little touch screens on each front door. Audi’s cameras are quite amazing and innovative, when you put the car in reverse. You are able to watch the car on your screen in 3D and even move the cameras around 360-degrees.
This technology and much more from apps that make it possible for you to control when and how much you want to charge your car, you can make it heat up the cabin for when you are ready to leave your house. You can even combine a button inside the car to your garage door, so you do not need a garage opener laying around in your car all the time. All of this technology is combined with design in such a spectacular way, it makes your day to day life so much easier. Good design in my eyes, is when something is visually appealing, but also works well without any hassle or confusion. I can’t wait to see what these car manufacturers come up with next.
