Comment on “when vandalism became art”

I am going to comment on the blogpost «when vandalism became art» written by Kusann.

First of the headline is intriguing and makes me wonder right away what he means by vandalism being art.

The author start by explaining how people view art, and how you describe it quite nice. It is true that people view art in all different kinds of ways and it kind of explains right away what you mean by how vandalism became art.

Furthermore he start to use Banksy as an example. He works with graffiti which is actually often seen as vandalism in the art industry. But he somehow became a well known street artist despite this thought of graffiti being vandalism. He explains how Banksy started out as provocative and annoying, but now people see him as a mysterious nature talent. But I wonder what the author think make him special? How could a provocative street artist become such a well known artist world wide, when people do not even know his identity.

The author then keeps writing how Banksy’s identity is kept hidden from the world. How is that? Could it be that he wants his identity to stay hidden because he was afraid of the art industry judging him. Or could it be he thought the art industry needed a mystery street artist to get their eyes open for street art.

In the next paragraph the author uses syllabus to explain how the art industry works in the real world. That promoting art is not that easy, and the public can have issues attending art galleries and such. The author then makes me think Banksy began with street art because it is totally free for the public eye. Everyone can see it and not having to dress and be specially interested in art to admire it.

He ends his post quite nice with telling us how he thinks Banksy does it. How everyone has a different opinion on everything and everything can be art if you just look at it right. All in al it is a good written post, though i would have liked few more thoughts around the topic.
