Artkets

Art in today’s world can often be seen as how it reflects the society, but that’s just mine perception. In the end it all depends what kind of interest and type of level the individual person have.

Most of us know that being an artist now days require facing various kinds of challenges to survive in the art market.  And even though art market is enormous, and the demand of contemporary art is increasing, sadly enough the chances to succeed are still low.

There are four major markets in the art:

Avant-garde market is often seen as exchange market, as it aligned art market is more with non-profit sector, such as the museums or small number galleries who are independent when it comes to temptation of money and greed.

Branded art market, can be seen as secondary art market, since the art which are sold are less risky because it evolves 20th century art, in the other words, usually has a high demand.

Alternative art market, this market is similar to avant-garde market, but doesn’t have the same level of recognition compared to museums. Leading figures in the art system determine what gets included.

Junk art market: the market with “junk” art, in other words; doesn’t have high value or recognition from the” elites. ”  You can find this type of art at ebay, art fairs and such.

You can also see these different art markets as; the inclusive circuit, the exclusive circuit, and commercial circuit.

The beauty about art is people see the art from different kind of perspective, but unfortunately there is lack of “democracy” when it comes to what is an a good art. Some people say you need recognition from the Elite in the art world, since they are top of hierarchy chain, others don’t care.

Art doesn’t have to be have bad even though you bought from eBay, its about what kind of feeling and emotion you feel in your body once you see it for the first time.

A rich elderly man with a lot of life experience and expertise within art shouldn’t matter for us.
